Dextran a multi-use, branched glucan with long, hydrophilic spacer arms that improve the performance of immobilized proteins
acting on macromolecules. Low molecular weight dextran is useful as a stabilizer, volume extender, lubricant, binding platform,
and matrix component. Higher molecular weight dextrans have differing viscosities, aggregation and permeation properties.
